BMBF Project SATCONPOL

Spatially and temporally controlled growth of conjugated polymers and nanostructured systems (SaTConPol)

 Introduction

The aim of the project is a development of direct monitoring methods for the nanoscale crystallization kinetics of conjugated polymer systems with high spatial and temporal resolution. Unprecedented opportunities of x-ray nanofocussed beam in combination with large area detectors will be implemented to answer to the highly speculated question how disordered polymer chains assemble from solution or melt into ordered nanocrystal. A detailed study of the crystallization kinetics and the role of confinement induced phenomena within nanostructured polymers will be performed to design bottom up approaches for novel materials with enhanced optoelectronic properties.
